The Amarnath Yatra is a significant annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave in Jammu and Kashmir, India, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Here are some key aspects:

The Cave

• Location: The Amarnath Cave is situated at an altitude of about 3,888 meters (12,756 feet) in the Himalayas.
• Shivlinga: The cave houses a naturally occurring ice Shivlinga, formed by the freezing of water that drips from the roof of the cave. This Shivlinga waxes and wanes with the phases of the moon, which is a unique aspect of the pilgrimage.

Religious Significance

• Hindu Belief: The cave is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva revealed the secret of immortality (Amar Katha) to Goddess Parvati. The pilgrimage symbolizes devotion and surrender to Lord Shiva.
• Festivals: The yatra usually takes place during the summer months, particularly in July and August, coinciding with the month of Shravan in the Hindu calendar.

Pilgrimage Route

• Trekking Paths: Pilgrims can reach the cave through two main routes:
  1. Pahalgam Route: The longer and more scenic route, which covers around 47 kilometers (29 miles).
  2. Baltal Route: A shorter but steeper trek of about 14 kilometers (8.7 miles), suitable for those who want a more intense journey.

Day 1: Srinagar 
Arrival at Srinagar - where guest will be greeted by our representative, After a formal meet and greet, the guest will be escorted towards Sonamarg, Check-in at the hotel and overnight stay. 

Day 2: Sonamarg – Baltal- Panchtarni – Baltal - Srinagar 
Early morning catch the helicopter from Baltal to Holycave. (The Helicopter has stopped 5 km away from Holy Cave in the past 2 years) Proceed for Darshan of Holy Amarnath ji and return back to the hotel in Srinagar.

Day 3: Srinagar 
Early morning after breakfast proceed for a city tour of Srinagar which includes a visit to tourist places of interest. Evening Shikara Ride at Dal Lake. Overnight stay at Hotel (option of staying at Houseboat is available).

Day 4: Departure 
As per flight timing, the transfer to Srinagar Airport tour ends.
